6 Simple Games to Play with Your Inflatable Mega Water Park

When it comes to keeping your kids entertained, flexibility and variety are a must! It’s one of the many reasons why parents and kids have fallen in love with H2OGO!® mega water parks made by Bestway®.

Each park contains an inflatable water slide and built-in play features that will keep your kids splashing and playing all day long. Plus, these inflatable water parks keep your kids off the couch and away from screens.

And while these mega water parks are a blast all on their own, it’s always nice to mix things up. So, we came up with six simple ways to use your mega water park to shake up your child’s play time routine:

1. Water Balloon Toss

It’s a classic game used by many camp counselors and teachers—and for good reason. All you need are a few water balloons. Pair the kids up and distribute one balloon per team. While standing in the wading pool area, have each team toss the balloon back and forth. After each successful catch, one team member must race down the slide before their next turn. Kids can take a step back to create more difficulty, eventually maybe even onto the grass, depending on their skill level. The game continues until someone drops their balloon or the water balloon breaks!

2. Fill the Bucket

If you’re interested in a game with reusable materials, Fill the Bucket is a fun way to encourage teamwork and collaboration. Here’s what you’ll need: a sponge for each team, a bucket or bowl for each team, and a bunch of enthusiasm. A few mega water parks even come with their own Sponge Soaker™ sponges as an added accessory! And there are other water parks with built-in water blasters that can be incorporated into the game as well to help fill the buckets!

After you’ve split the kids into 2 teams, place the buckets in the grass across from the wading pool of your mega water park (use your best judgement on the distance based on your children’s ages).

Then each team will line up across from their bucket in the wading pool area of your mega water park. Using the sponge, kids will soak it full of water, run and squeeze the water into their designated bucket. Kids will race relay-style to fill their bucket or bowl with the sponges and water blasters before the other teams! The team to reach the top fill line of the bucket first wins!

3. Pool Noodle or Water Hose Limbo

Everyone loves a game with items you already have around the house. In this case, all you need is a hose, broom or pool noodle (anything pole-like will do as long as it’s free of spikes or potential splinters).

Turn on some music to add some extra ambience and you’re ready for a limbo party! Line kids up in the direction of the built-in water slide and after each successful limbo, kids can slide down and splash before their next turn!

4. Marco Polo

Although most people associate this game with an in-ground pool, we think it’s just as fun to play Marco Polo with a mega water park! Have one child close their eyes or wear a blindfold and let the others roam throughout the wading pool and other sections of the water park. And, since there’s still a pool element, the “fish out of water” rule still applies! Polos can use the grass, the climbing wall or the slide, but when Marco yells, "Fish out of water," if someone's not in the wading pool, they become Marco and the game continues!

5. Duck, Duck, Splash

This is a splashy twist on a classic game. Have kids sit in a circle outlining the wading pool area of your mega water park. Traditional duck, duck, goose rules apply, but when it’s time for the race around the circle, the child will say, “SPLASH” and the chase is on! We encourage including the water slide as kids run their lap for maximum splashiness.

6. Target Practice

For mega water parks with a built-in water blaster, line up some of your child’s favorite toys along the edges of the wading pool and slide. Try to place the toys at different heights and distances so your child can practice their accuracy and knock down their dinosaurs or dolls. Assign points to each item or use a stopwatch to time your child to ramp up the drama of the game! If you have more than one kid, or your child has a play date, time each child to see who knocks the toys down the fastest!

These are just a few ideas to make the most of your mega water park and switch up your outdoor play routine.
