5 easy steps for adding more air to your inflatable hot tub
Every once in a while, your inflatable hot tub might need a little extra air. The good news? It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it, and you can add air to your hot tub without draining it!
With frequent use, inflatable hot tubs can naturally start losing air due to movement and fluctuating temperatures that can cause the liner to expand and contract. In fact, in winter, your SaluSpa® hot tub may appear a little deflated. This is a basic chemistry concept, thermal expansion and contraction. Air molecules expand when it’s warm and contract when it’s cold, which means the air takes up less space when it’s cold and more when it’s warm.
One common misconception is that you have to drain the water from your inflatable hot tub before you can add more air – which can be a hassle!
Just follow these 5 easy steps so you can get back to relaxing in a flash!
Step 1: Once everyone is out of the hot tub and the pump is turned off, unplug the pump from the outlet.
Step 2: Next, remove the ChemConnect™ chemical dispenser and filter cover, then put on the stopper caps to prevent the water from flowing out.
Step 3: Disconnect the pump from the hot tub liner.
Step 4: Connect the inflation hose (just like you did during setup), plug the pump back into the outlet and start inflating until the firmness is at your desired level (the wrinkles should disappear with firm pressure).
Step 5: Once the firmness is at your desired level, remove the inflation hose and the stopper caps, then put the chemical dispenser and filter cover back in before reconnecting the pump.
When you’re ready to use your hot tub again, just start the heating process!
Note: If you are experiencing more air leakage than normal, it’s possible you have a puncture somewhere. Follow these few steps to locate and patch a potential puncture.
