Get ready for Part VI of our Bestway® Innovations Series!
As part of our Bestway 30th Anniversary celebration that we kicked off in 2024, we’re continuing to spotlight our unique innovations that make our products so exceptional.
In Part V, we introduced you to the UltraFit™ hot tub heater pump, a multi-function, space-saving pump that’s built directly into the liner. This ultra-sleek pump is featured in our line of SaluSpa® inflatable hot tubs.
In Part VI, we’re continuing to shine a light on our hot tubs by spotlighting the technology behind our EnergySense® hot tubs that provide increased energy efficiency.
History of EnergySense
In 2007, Bestway pioneered the first inflatable hot tub in the world under our international brand, Lay-Z-Spa®. Ten years later, we launched the SaluSpa brand that you know and love in the U.S. market.
Five years later in 2022, after extensive research and testing, Bestway introduced EnergySense covers and included them with select SaluSpa inflatable hot tub sets.
After the resounding positive response to the EnergySense covers, inflatable hot tubs with EnergySense covers and insulated walls will be introduced in 2025.
What is EnergySense?
EnergySense insulation refers to a specially constructed, insulating layer along the inside of the wall and/or cover which fortifies the hot tub against cold winds and locks in the heat. This patent-pending insulation allows the hot tub to retain heat more efficiently, keeping the water hot while using less energy.
Inflatable hot tubs with EnergySense insulation are up to 40% more energy-efficient than similar inflatable hot tubs.
EnergySense Benefits
Environmental Benefits
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the purchase and use of energy-efficient appliances, such as hot tubs “can result in lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other pollutants.” Lower energy consumption means a lower collective carbon footprint and less pollution, resulting in “cleaner air, water and land, all of which directly affect human health,” according to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
Economic & Cost-Saving Benefits
The EPA and DOE both recommend taking steps to reduce energy usage, which can also potentially lower your utility bills. Products with energy-efficient construction are built to use less power than traditional models through various features, including heat retention and automated power settings.
