SaluSpa Hot Tub Error Codes & How to Fix Them

Don’t let an error code get in the way of enjoying your SaluSpa® inflatable hot tub! The good news is that most of the error codes (which will show up on the digital interface of your control panel) have quick and easy fixes that will get you back into relaxation mode before you know it.

An error code will pop up (and potentially shut off your spa) to prevent any possible damage, while also notifying you of the type of issue going on with your hot tub. There may be multiple causes, and therefore solutions, so work your way down this list until your hot tub is functioning properly again!

Error Code: E01

The E01 error code shows up when the internal water flow sensors are running, even when the filtration or heating system isn't.

Cause Solution
The water flow sensors didn’t fall back into the correct position. Unplug your hot tub, and then gently hit the side of the pump (seriously). This will help knock those sensors back into place. Plug it back in and turn it back on.
The water flow sensors are broken. Click here for additional customer support, such as warranty services, spare parts and additional FAQs and product help.

Error Code: E02

The E02 error code pops up when the pump doesn’t detect enough water to run the filtration or heating system. This is one of the most common error codes you might see – read more about it here.

Cause Solution
There isn’t enough water in your hot tub. Fill the hot tub until the water level is between the Min. and Max. lines printed on the inside of the liner.
The two stopper caps are still inside your hot tub, blocking the water intake. Remove the stopper caps and try again. For more information on the stopper caps and the hot tub parts, check out the digital copies of the AirJet hot tub manual and the HydroJet hot tub manual.
It’s too cold outside to set up your hot tub. If it’s cooler than 42ºF outside, the pump will automatically turn on the Freeze Shield heating function (great for using your spa all year long, not so great for trying to set it up in cold weather). This heating function is meant to protect the parts and the water inside hot tub from freezing in cold weather. To set up the spa in this type of weather, we recommend fully inflating the tub in an indoor area where the temperature is higher, then taking it outside to fill with water that is warmer than 42ºF.
The filter cartridge is blocked or needs to be cleaned. First, do a quick check to see if this is the issue. Remove the filter cartridge from the inside of the pump, then press the filter or heat button. If the error code doesn’t appear again, clean or replace the filter cartridge. If it still appears, move on to the next possible solution.
The water pump is broken. First, let’s check to see if this is the problem. Turn on the filtration or heating system, then place your hand in front of the outlet pipe. If you don’t feel any water coming out, click here for additional customer support, such as spare parts or a replacement and FAQs and product help. If you do feel water, move on to the next possible solution.
The pipes inside the liner are bending or have poor water flow. Straighten out the pipes and try again. If the problem persists, click here for additional customer support, such as warranty services, spare parts and additional FAQs and product help.
The internal debris screens are being blocked by either calcium or hard water build-up. Empty the water out of your hot tub. Then, using a garden hose, flush water through the pipes to wash away any debris. For best results, we recommend doing this from both the inside and outside of your hot tub. You can even use a toothbrush to scrub the more difficult areas. Fill the tub up again and turn it back on.

Error Code: E03

The E03 error code indicates that the internal thermometer is reading the water temperature below
