It can be located by using a mixture of liquid soap and water. Before checking for the air leak from the air valve, please make sure that inflatable ring is fully inflated, then apply the soapy mixture to the air valve. While doing so, you will see bubbles where there is an air leak.

The pool does not need to be emptied to fix the holes. Underwater adhesive repair patches included in the sets or purchased at your local pool/hardware store can be used under the water following these steps:
STEP 1: clean the surface around the hole on the inside of the pool to wipe off any oils and algae.
STEP 2: cut a circle out of the repair patch large enough to cover the hole.
STEP 3: apply the patch inside the pool and keep it pressed for 30 seconds to complete the operation.
We also suggest applying a second patch to the external part of the pool liner for extra strength.
