5 Spooktacular Halloween Party Activities to Try

The spookiest night of the year is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start planning the BIG Halloween bash for your kids and their friends.
Whether your child is 6 or 16, there are so many ghoulishly-fun activities for them to enjoy – without breaking the bank!
From movies and games, to crafting stations and dangerously-delicious treats, here are 5 witch-and-werewolf-approved activities to try:
1. Hair-raising Fun Games.
One way to keep the little ghouls and boys entertained is Halloween-themed games. Depending on their age, you can go creepy-crawly or spooky-cute.
Guess How Many Eyeballs (or Candy Corn). Put fake eyeballs (you can buy cheap ones online or make your own) in a jar and let everyone guess how many are inside. The closest guess gets an extra-special sweet treat.
Apple Bobbing. The classic Halloween game can be played with a simple bowl of cold water with an apple in it for each individual kid. (For bigger apple bobbing fun, use an inflatable kiddie pool so all the kids can play at the same time!)
Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe. Using masking tape and different colored pumpkins or painting an “X” or “O” on the pumpkins, the kids can take turns playing tic-tac-toe against one another.
Witch Hat Ring Toss. Place 6 witch hats on the ground in a triangular shape with about 6 inches or so in between each. Attach glow sticks to make a circular shape. Then use the glow sticks as rings for the kids to try and toss around the top of the witch hat.
(Money-saving tip: Reuse the pumpkins from tic-tac-toe and the kids can throw the glow sticks around the stem!)
2. Halloween Movies.
Create a cozy movie-watching corner and put on an age-appropriate Halloween movie (or multiple movies depending on the length of the party) that plays simultaneously as the kids are playing games, crafting or making sweet treats. This activity gives kids an opportunity to sit down while they eat their treats or take a break from playing games or crafting.
Movie suggestions: Hocus Pocus, Casper, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Haunted Mansion, ParaNorman, Coraline, Halloweentown, Beetlejuice, Goosebumps, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. (For older kids, you may even consider horror movies!)

Eyeball Punch. This deliciously-creepy punch can be concocted with different ingredients like ginger ale, sorbet and grape juice (or Kool-Aid®️).
(Money-saving tip: You already have eyeballs from the “guess how many” game; use the leftovers to throw in some punch!)
4. Crafting Stations.
Brew up some Halloween magic by setting up a few areas around the house for different crafts. These stations let the kids get creative and give them something boo-tiful to take home.
A few craft ideas:
• Pumpkin Carving or Decorating
• Coffee Filter Ghost Lollipops
• Halloween Monster Paper Plate Masks
• Milk Jug Jack-O-Lanterns
(Money-saving tip: In addition to already having the pumpkins from the games, these crafts contain items you probably already have around the house (coffee filters, lollipops, milk jugs, paper plates, etc.). The only additional items you may need to purchase are paint, markers, stickers, ribbon and string.)
5. Costume Contest.
Once the Halloween party is wrapping up, announce the winners of the costume contest. From best dressed, scariest or most creative, the winners can treat themselves by picking a prize from your Halloween goody box.
