Bestway Innovations Series: What is Tritech Material?

Last Updated: Februrary 26, 2025

Welcome to Part II in our Bestway Innovations Series!

As part of our Bestway 30th Anniversary celebration, we’re highlighting all the details of our high-quality, innovative, inflatable recreational products throughout the year.

In Part I, we introduced you to our FortiFiber™ drop stitch material, which is featured in our stand-up paddleboards, boats and inflatable hot tubs.

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on our Tritech® (previously known as DuraPlus™) material, which is featured in our above ground pools, inflatable hot tubs, air mattresses and various outdoor recreational items.

What is Tritech Material?

Tritech is an enhanced 3-layer material that is reinforced for durability, puncture resistance, UV protection and longevity.

All products featuring Tritech material are made up of the same proprietary formula, but the primary benefits of that material can vary from product to product.

Keep reading to learn about the benefits in each product!

Why is Tritech Material Important?

When you’re relaxing in your inflatable hot tub, splashing in your above ground swimming pool, adventuring on the lake or sleeping on an airbed, you want to feel confident you’re enjoying a high-quality, long-lasting product that is built to last for the moment and for year-after-year enjoyment.

Which Products Use Tritech?

Here’s a brief overview of how Tritech supports a range of Bestway’s products:

Air Mattresses

Tritech material forms the internal structure of some of our Bestway air mattresses. It’s 44% more stretch-resistant, 18% stronger and retains 19% more air pressure than standard PVC air mattresses. Specifically engineered for firmness, this premium grade material increases internal stretch-resistance and minimizes air loss throughout the night, which allows the mattress to keep the same shape no matter how many times it's inflated and deflated.

Watersports Items

Tritech material forms the external structure of some of our Hydro Force® boats, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and rafts. It’s built to withstand weight, strain and movement to offer superior strength and durability. Tritech material can also withstand exposure to UV rays, so you can freely enjoy your time out on the water without worrying about your outdoor recreational item being damaged by the sun.

Above Ground Swimming Pools

Tritech material forms the liner in our Bestway Fast Set™, Steel Pro®, Steel Pro MAX™, Power Steel®, and APX 365™ above ground pools. It’s 15% more tear-resistant, 33% more stretch-resistant and 83% more puncture-resistant than standard PVC above ground pools, ensuring your pool will last summer after summer.

Inflatable Hot Tubs

Tritech material forms the wall structure in many of our SaluSpa® inflatable and ThermaCore™ hot tubs. It’s 33% more tear-resistant and 56% more stretch-resistant than standard PVC inflatable hot tubs. This type of outer wall construction prevents expansion over time, allowing the spa to retain the same shape no matter how many times it's inflated and deflated.
